Nicholas R. Panaro, M.D., D.A.B.P.M.R., F.A.A.P.M.R.
Dr. Nicholas Panaro has been with Somers Orthopaedic Surgery since 1996 and is Board Certified in Pain Management and Physical Rehabilitation. Dr. Panaro is a clinical instructor at The Rusk Institute New York University Medical Center and is affiliated with Putnam Hospital Center and Northern Westchester Hospital Center .
After receiving his Medical Degree from the SUNY Health Science Center in New York, Dr. Panaro completed his surgical and medicine internship at Staten Island University Hospital and Brookdale Medical Center. His postgraduate training included a residency at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the New York University Hospital- Rusk Institute New York City.
Dr. Panaro is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Medical Societies of New York State. He is board certified in three areas, Physical Medicine, electromyography and pain management. He specializes in nonsurgical management of neck, back, shoulder, knee and muscular problems.
As a co-author of many publications, Dr. Panaro also lectures on pain management issues involving back pain associated with spinal injuries. In 2003 he delivered a presentation to the New York Fire Department on the extent of injuries sustained by fire fighters during the September 11th disaster.
