Alan Berman, DPM, FACFAS, is a podiatrist at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.

Dr. Berman earned his medical degree in 1984 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and has served Putnam County residents in his private podiatry practice for over 25 years.

He is a member in good standing of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Berman is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. This dual board certification allows Dr. Berman's patients to comfortably choose either surgical care or state-of-the-art non-surgical care. Additionally, Dr. Berman is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and he is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Berman has medical and surgical privileges at both Putnam Hospital Center and Danbury Hospital, he is on the surgical staff at Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center in Danbury, and he is the Podiatric medical provider at the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen at Putnam Hospital.

Dr. Berman earned his medical degree in 1984 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and he served Putnam County residents in his private podiatry practice for 25 years from 1985-2010 before joining Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in 2011.

Dr. Berman is the author of numerous articles for local newspapers and magazines on foot-related health issues. He was the founding director of Podiatry at Monsey Family Medical Center from 1992-1994.

Dr. Berman has an advanced specialty in bunion treatment and achieved A Center of Excellence for the Lapiplasty 3D Bunion correction, and he offers comprehensive foot and wound care for diabetic patients.

When not involved with his passion for providing quality podiatric care, Dr. Berman enjoys spending time with family and friends, and he is an avid golfer.
